The Run for Hunger 5K and 1/2 mile Kids Fun Run will return for its eighth consecutive year. The Run for Hunger benefits local food pantries with all runners' fees going directly to feed the hungry.
The course is USATF certified and winds through the tree-lined streets of south Elmhurst. All participants receive a custom-designed T-shirt, a "good bag", post-race refreshments and a chance to win great raffle prizes. Unique awards for both men and women will be given out in 10 age categories. Following the 5K there will be a "Kid's 1/2 mile Fun Run" with each participant receiving a T-shirt and Ribbon. Participation averages 350 runners and walkers.
Participants are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food donation with them on race day for the Elmhurst Food Pantry.
